Every coin is more than 100 years old!
The Barber Silver Half Dollar is one of America’s most beautiful and storied silver coins. Last minted over 100 years ago in 1915, it witnessed many of the milestone events of the early 20th century. You are invited to own the Barber Silver Half Dollars Collection, a magnificent set of 12 classic Barber Silver Half Dollars dating from the early 20th century. Available exclusively from the Danbury Mint, this collection comes with a custom book-style display at no additional charge. The Barber Silver Half Dollar was named after its legendary designer, U.S. Mint Chief Engraver Charles E. Barber. The front includes one of the most famous and beautiful images of Liberty ever to appear on a U.S. coin. This design is rightly considered to be one of the true masterpieces of American coinage, making this coin in high demand by collectors. For much of the early 20th century, this was America’s largest silver coin. Struck in 90% silver, it was also a valuable coin with great purchasing power.

Despite its importance to the American economy, this large silver coin was struck in surprisingly small quantities. Less than one coin was made for every man, woman and child in the United States in the early 20th century, and the total mintage from 1901 to 1915 was fewer than the mintage in each year the Kennedy Silver Half Dollar was struck for circulation. The chances of holding a Barber Silver Half Dollar in your hand even a century ago were slim…and when you consider that so many were damaged in circulation and melted for their precious silver content over the last 100 years, it’s a miracle that even a single coin has survived. Assembling a collection of 12 of these historic coins is a feat most collectors could never dream of completing. Together, these coins contain more than one-third of a troy pound of precious silver!

The Danbury Mint has carefully hand-selected every coin from the limited supply available and miraculously, each circulated coin in this collection has most major design details visible. What’s more, each coin is individually housed in a clear protective capsule, making it safe and easy for you and your family to examine both sides of every coin without fear of damage from dust, dirt or fingerprints. You will also receive a deluxe faux-leather book-style display at about the same time as your second coin shipment at no additional charge. An elegant addition to any home or office, the display includes spaces for all 12 Barber Silver Half Dollars, as well as a fascinating narrative about the history and design of the Barber Silver Half Dollar. The price per coin is subject to possible adjustment only if needed for unusual market conditions.
